RRR - Royal Rumble Resort [Sign-up/OOC], W.I.P Options

Summary

Set now in the 2000's, a mysterious entity calling itself The Judge started popping up around the world and distributing to people certain weapons called Telums, these Telums gave whoever wielded increased strength and agility as long as they were holding the weapon, also, most interestingly, all Telums have a mind of their own and are not only self aware, but can also speak to their wielders.

It's not so simple, however, when The Judge appears to someone, he proposes that person if he or she wants to play a certain game, if the person refuses The Judge simply disappears and never will show up for that person again, if the person accepts, however, The Judge will then bestow to that person one of the Telums and explain the rules of the game.

The game is actually quite simple, to fight other Telum wielders. Whenever a Telum wielder is defeated, the winner of the battle receives the loser's Telum. The objective of the game is to acquire all of the Telums. According to The Judge, the one who wins the game will be granted a single and all powerful wish with no limitations, in short, the one who wins the game might as well rule the world.

The game had been going for a while now, with the fights being scarce and rare, until in 2009, a massive artificial island was erected by some millionaire in the middle of the bermuda triangle. This billionaire, however, was a Telum wielder who had lost all of his weapons, and sacrificed the one thing he held dearest, his money. The Judge, having little use for all of that money, used it to erect this artificial island, where all of the Telum users would be able to gather up and fight each other off quicker. The only way in and out of the Island is via helicopter.

Also, for the sake of turning the whole place in a battlefield, The Judge estabilished certain "safe" areas in the island, the residential area and the arrival area, where people are not allowed to fight with Telums. And so, it was opened the Royal Rumble Resort (RRR)


The resort



The island is located close to Japan, it was not heavily affected by the recent earthquake, however. The only way to arrived at the island is either by ship or helicopter.

As expected of a five star resort, the RRR contains all of the commodities necessary for living, including several aparments, all of them equipped with a living room, a bedroom, small kitchen and of course, bathrooms. Adding up to the rooms, the resort has restaurants, shops and several other things...That's the "safe" social area, of course, which is located in the outer layers of the island.

The battle areas are located in the center, alongside with the usual grassy grounds located on the above there are several other battle areas...Which will be unlocked as time goes on.

Arenas currently available

Grassy plains

Found in the center of the isle, this is the most basic arena found in the island, it has a few trees that are randomly located around, alongside with a few lakes. A few small critters can be found skipping around happily around the areas, though they obviously tend to stay hidden from the players for the sake of their own safety.

This arena has no special conditions.

Atlantis

Is an arena found close to the harbor, after getting an elevator, the players will end up in an underwater network of glass tunnels which form a gigantic maze, if one of the players wants to risk it, there are several hatches randomly spread out around the tunnels which can take the player directly to the water so he can improvise a shortcut instead of trying to find his way around the maze.

Players can take the fight underrwater, while swimming defensive stances (Blue) cannot be used.

Naraka

Acessible through an elevator at the very center of the island, this arena is located dangerously close to the Earth's lower layers, rivers of lava stream around meters below the players feet, most people would die in a few minutes under such circumstances but thanks to the Telums powers, players can actually manage fighting in this place, though it is still unbereable to remain here for longer than one hour. The arena is mostly natural, the elevator ending up inside an underground cave, though there a few rails and other measures to try and keep the players from tripping to their deaths too often.

Fighting in this arena makes it so both players take one damage per turn constantly, regardless of what position they're in.


The rules of the rumble.

#1. A Telum wielder may never kill another, the battles are not meant to be lethal. The damage caused by the Telums is also not physical, upon being hit with a Telum sword, by example, the victim will feel the pain of the blade sinking into the skin and flesh, but they won't really be damaged.

#2. You may not give out information regarding the game to non-Telum wielders, doing so, will at first give you a warning headache, if the person insists, their Telum will disappear and they will lose all of their memories regarding the game.

#3. You may only fight with one Telum at a time, holding two of them at the same time during a battle will at first give you a headache, and if you don't stop after thirty minutes, will kick you out of the game with similar effects to rule #2.

#4. You may not attempt to take another user's Telum without battling that person, doing so will return all of your Telums to their respective owners and kick you out of the game.

#5. If, for any case, you lose all of your Telums and become no longer able to participate in the game, The Judge will appear before you and propose you with two options, to either quit the game or to sacrifice one thing you hold dear in exchange for a new Telum. The second option can only be used a maximum of two times.

#6. Upon the beggining of a battle, both participants need to first estabilish how many of their telums will they be betting in this battle. Betting more Telums lowers the pain you receive from your opponent's attack and allows you to stay battling for longer at the cost of an increased risk.


The rules of the RP

The usual. No godmodding/bunnying of other people's chars.
Respect other players and leave in-character conflicts in characters and keep out-of-character conflicts out of character.
You will need to use the battle system provided by Sparrowsmith to fight, it is found below.

Counter and Parry can ONLY be used if the opponent just did an attack (red)
Dodge can be used at any time, but you CANNOT go from a Dodge straight into an attack (you have to get back up off the floor)
Tackles are almost always successful, but only do damage against Blocking. There's no logical reason for this, tackling was just underpowered and blocking was overpowered. Make up your own insane justifications.
You must change stance every turn.
Your Telum can only ever use Strong attack OR quick Attack.
Health varies from match to match. Players choose a "default" value within a maximum of twenty and then that number increases by one for each Telum being bet.
Both players start in defensive Stance, damage can be dealt in the OP of a fight
You can only change stance once per turn.
Some arenas have special conditions which are exclusive to them.

Suggested:
Players bold their opponents last stance and then bold the stance they are changing to each turn, followed by a [score-score].
-Example: "Eden recovered from being offensive attack and dodged out of the way of the next onslaught [3-2]"
Problems with scores (people reading the chart wrong, breaking rules) be corrected by PM, and then edited. Me and Sparrowsmith actually moderate the forums, so editing posts for people will not be a problem if they don't cooperate (no sore losers people, though I might have to run this one by Kaz)
In the event of a draw, the last attacking player declares that they have no intention of continuing the fight. This can ONLY be done when both players simultaneously reach the limit for the battle. The other player must agree to the draw - that is what the system has dictated.
Posts should be be made definite "Eden's blade swung deep into Clive's stomach" rather than implied "Eden's blade swung towards Clive's stomach". The system gives you the right to inflict damage. No ifs or buts, your player can be harmed by other players where they choose to hurt you, and you can hurt them too.

He's of a average build and tanned skinned, he has brown eyes and noticeable bags under his eyes.
Biography: Before being given a Telum, he was usually skateboarding in his spare time, although he's not exactly talented. He also worked late night shifts at a video rental store, which he hated more than anything. He gave up both Skateboarding and his late night job in an attempt to learn to fight better with his original Telum, Shard, in which he began hunting others with Telums.
However, he's only earned one so far.
He made the trip to the RRR to get his goal over with before he changed his mind about everything and gave up.
What is it that you wish for? He wished for wealth, to secure his future life from financial harm and to get him out of that crappy job. He's not bothered about where the money comes from so long as he gets a large amount to live on for the rest of his life.

Telum

What are their names? The first is named Shard and the other is called Fang.
What do they look like?
Shard has the form of a 2 handed sword with an elongated hilt. The blade has 3 protruding jagged spikes on one side which makes the weapon extra dangerous. [Slow and powerful]
Fang is shaped like a guantlet with two small blades to stab and slash with while punching. [quick and accurate]
What are their personalities? Shard is very encouraging of Eddie's goal, but it seems like its only what Shard is interested in talking to Eddie about. Shard often finds Fang's insults amusing and nothing more, quickly dismissing them.
Fang on the other hand seems more of a pacifist, telling Eddie to not go out searching for fights with other Telum Owners. Fang also openly hates Shard and considers him a blood thirsty barbarian.

Appearance: Eden is charismatic, with bright blue eyes and curly blonde hair. Average height, well built, and well spoken, he is usually wearing perfectly-fitting smart clothing - usually in white or black - such as a shirt or waistcoat. He is often accompanied by some kind of servant or lackey, depending on his mood.
Biography: Eden was an exceptionally gifted child and continues to be, the only downside is he knows it. Eden has had a taste for victory since an early age, where he was taught several forms of combat including fencing, and finds nothing more exciting or rewarding than a fair game. Every win is a medal to be shown, and every loss is a scar to be learned from. Upon being given his first Telum, Eden immediately began hunting down other Telum wielders, then the island opened. He amassed several Telum quickly, then lost all but his original in a wager. Recently he has brought that number up to a reputable 3, with no intentions of slowing down progress.
What is it that you wish for? Immortality. Life is too short to demand the respect you deserve. One must fight, and fight hard, to be granted an eternity in which to be worshipped for your victories.

Telum

How many do you have? Three.

What are their names? Aldous, Rapture, and Gear
What do they look like? Aldous is a long slender sword, light and well balanced, with a twisting gold hand guard.
Rapture is a much heavier blade, black as obsidian and coated with ivory symbols, if it were made of normal materials it would be far too heavy to wield.
Gear is a bronze gauntlet with a spike protruding from a mechanism on the back.
What are their personalities? Aldous is silent, and of few words, caring only for the honour and beauty of battle. Grace, respect for opponents, and revenge on all who break the etiquette of battle, are all that matter to this Telum.
Rapture is disturbingly optimistic, almost as if it thinks people want to be injured in battle. It has less respect for battle and more thirst for blood.
Gear is arrogant and cryptic, toying with people in conversation and in battle where possible. Suffering brings it glee.


Nicsp, regarding the battle system, what if Telums have weights? Heavy Telums can use Strong Offensive, but not Quick Attack. While Light Telums can use Quick Attack, but not Strong Offensive.
This could make fights more original and add to tactics...

Biography: Tom fears death. That's the most important thing someone needs to know about him. Part of the reason he agreed with the Judge's "game" was to cure his mother's cancer, and he remained dedicated to this cause up until he defeated his second opponent to earn "Guile", doing so with "Slugger", who he had earned a few weeks previously. Guile talked Tom out of this cure, and persuaded him to take a more selfish path. Tom did it not because he was desperate... But because it went with his philosophies. He didn't believe in God, Alah or anyone else... But he feared death. He feared what would happen if he lived life as an Atheist, only to discover that God is real. Or if he lived as a Christian, only to discover that the Islam faith is right. As such, he chose to live peacefully and help those around him; surely in this, he could be on good grounds with all religions and be accepted by them all. And hey, if they're all wrong and science is right, then at least he helped people before the end. These beliefs allowed Tom to listen to Guile, and so his wish changed. Instead of curing his mother and TEMPORARILY preventing her death, he could create his own world, one that was guaranteed to exist, and one where he could choose who was worthy or unworthy. It would be a paradise after life available only to those that were "perfect".

Tom's mother died a few days after the RRR was founded, and his father had died while he was but a toddler, so with the exception of a few aunts and a single uncle, he had nobody to turn to. Instead, he moved to Japan and got the first ship to the RRR. His dream had to come true. He needed that afterlife to make his fear go away... To bring his parents back to him, including the father he never really knew... and to reward the people that deserve to be rewarded, by granting them life after death. He didn't want to win "the game", he didn't hope to win "the game". He needed to win "the game". The game had become his life, and, hopefully... His afterlife.

What is it that you wish for? A utopia-like afterlife, available to Tom and anyone he chooses to allow entry. In other words, he wants his own form of heaven, as explained in his biography.

Telum

How many do you have? 3

What are their names? Joutei, Slugger, Guile
What do they look like?

Slugger: Slugger takes the form of a shield, perfectly rounded, and large enough to fully engulf Tom if he crouches down. However, the shield is easily seperated, turning it into a pair of large, semi-circular weapons, similar to a pair of gauntlets. Slugger is completely white.

Guile: In essence, Guile is a Katana, about a metre in length, with ruby and saphire ornaments running up the blade. It curves at the top, similar to a scimitar, yet is still thin and slicetastic like a Katana. [Swift, accurate attacks]
Joutei: Joutei takes the form of a long brace that covers Tom's forearm. From this brace, there is a single long spike that projects from the front, along the back of his forearm, as well as a set of smaller spikes on the under arm side, for when Tom is holding someone against him.

What are their personalities?

Slugger: Slugger enjoys the thrill of combat and the adrenaline of pummeling an enemy. He apparently fears nothing, even going so far as to laugh at the fears of "mere mortals", as he calls them.
Guile: Guile is the weapon form of dashing, daring, deceiving rogue. He is quick-witted, but evil beyond belief; moreso than he would openly admit, and moreso than even Tom Warden knows.
Joutei: Joutei was Tom's original Telum, and the two get along very well. Joutei has a strange personality disorder, in that her beliefs and opinions adapt based on people around her, meaning she will agree with absolutely ANYTHING someone tells her, and she has no fixed personality of her own. Which explains why she gets along with Tom, unlike Slugger and Guile.

Nationality: Japanese
Gender: Male
Appearance: Apart from his long hair that is tied back in a pony-tail, there aren’t many distinguishing features to Tezuka. His attire tends to be on the fancier side, as he seems to only wear formal clothing. The most distinguishing being the red dress-shirt which matches the colour of his primary Talum Raja.
Biography: Tezuka’s dream was to become a pianist. When he wasn’t working as a waiter he was busy practicing. This dream came to an end when he got into an accident and injured his left hand. Though he had mostly recovered, his talent was slashed in half. It was then that the judge appeared, offering him a chance to restore his hand. Tezuka, however, had other plans in mind.
What is it that you wish for? Tezuka has no wish. He merely accepted the conditions of the game so he can prevent anyone that would bring the world to ruin from having their wish granted.

Telum
How many do you have? 2

What are their names? Raja and Shadow
What do they look like? Raja takes the form of a segmented crimson whip.
Shadow is a solid black lance, with an elongated shaft, modified for melee combat.
What are their personalities? Raja has the personality of a sadistic killer. He tends to get very irritable after periods of innaction and is always pleading Tezuka to find new opponents to fight, or from Raja’s point of view “victims to torture.”
Shadow, on the other hand, exhibit’s the supporter archetype. He consistently gives advice on how to improve ones fighting, and is a second voice in decision making. Though he holds a grudge against Tezuka and the two currently aren’t on speaking terms.

Well I'm hopeing to persuade some others (using Guile's charisma) to see things my way, help me win the game to get my wish, earn themselves a place in an afterlife that's guaranteed to exist, and live (or... die?) happily in Tricktopia! Tezuka could be happy to know that I'm rewarding those that deserve it, and Ed would have practically no need for money since once his life ends, he'll live in a non-material realm.
Of course making them see things this way will take some work. xD

So in summary; get everyone to help me, gang up on Sparrow and kick his ass, then win teh gamez.

He often got involved with several street gangs and became affiliated with the underground crime syndicate known as the "Abbokei" (Masked individuals who uses speed and agility to assassinate their target.) He was caught after attempting to rob a local convience store.

What are their names? Makatski Abbokei and Lionel
What do they look like?
Makatski Abbokei is a steel-bladed claw that is strapped to Nyo'Sen's right hand. The blades themselves are 8-10 in long. Blood stained. Lionel is a Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum, with a range capable to firing at 50 yds.

What are their personalities?
Makatski Abbokei - He loves the screams from its victims. He loves the blood trinkle down the length of its shaft. He loves to witness agony and pain.

Lionel - A bit more sophisticated and controlling than Makatski. He speaks with a bold tone, and only speaks when he sees something that needs to be hurt.

Hoozah! Everything is going as planned, good to see all of you around ^.^ Everyone is accepted, I'll make a list for all of the characters and also post my own characters tommorow. Now.

Biography:
Eldest daughter of one of the families from the Yakuza, Kayria was trained since young age to assume the role of one of the heads of the organization. She received top notch education, not only knowledge wise but also for fighting, being proficient with martial arts, swords and also knowing how to handle a gun. One day she found herself receiving the opportunity to enter this game and, with her hot-headed and reckless nature, gladly accepted the challenge. Ever since, she started raking up more and more weapons in this game, until she lost most of them to another Telum wielder, her cousin, who she found that she was unable to fight on an equal level. She came to the RRR with her remaining weapons. In truth, she holds a huge disdain for the whole world and the path it has taken, not to mention, she also never had any interest in being related to the Yakuza, but she has no choice in the matter.

What is it that you wish for? Kayria wishes the world to be reset and rebuilt according to her ideals.

What are their names? Leviathan, Agni and Egill
What do they look like?

Leviathan is a heavy, decorated and dark shield. It's edges glint with the sunlight and seem incredibly sharp. [Slow and heavy]

Agni is a one-handed japanese sword, a ninja-to, it has a red hilt with details in gold. The blade is approximately 4 feet long. [Quick and accurate]

Egill is a hidden blade. If Kayria is using clothes with long sleeves, Egill is basically invisible but can be sprung out from below her wrist at incredible speed when necessary. [Quick and accurate]

What are their personalities?

Leviathan has the personality of a knight stereotype, he is always serious and follows a very strict moral code, expecting everyone else, especially Kayria, to follow it as well. He will never lie or do anything which could be seen as 'immoral'.

Agni is a loud and obnoxious weapon, he's constantly making remarks about pretty much everything and brings up the most varied subjects at random. The only moment when he evers shuts up is during battle, where he seems to suddenly turn serious. At other times, him shutting up is a reason for commemorating.

Egill is quiet. In fact, too quiet. Kayria herself has only heard him speak a few times, so not much about this weapon's personality is know yet, he will always answer any questions he's asked, but his answers are usually as short as possible.

Biography: Youngest son of the Hara family, Satoshi never admitted that his cousin, Kayria, was to take HIS seat in the organization. Even though he received the same training as Kayria, he surpassed her in many aspects, his will for being superior and wanting to prove himself seemingly turning into an obsession for him. Upon receiving a Telum and discovering his cousin had one, the first thing he did was challenge Kayria, even though he won, it mattered little to him since he couldn't aknowledge the other members of the Yakuza of his victory without breaking the game's rules, therefore losing all memories regarding the game, and his very reason for gloating as well. His obssesion developed with time and he went from wishing his "rightful" seat in the Yakuza to wishing to control all of it and then, subsequently, to wish to control everything.
What is it that you wish for? To be God.

Telum

How many do you have? 3

What are their names? Asgier, Gudbrandur, Francesca
What do they look like?

Asgier is a 8 foot long golden spear with small wings decorating the area close to it's point. [Quick and accurate]

Gudbrandur is Satoshi's original weapon, a 3 foot long chainsaw sword. It's blade looks rusty and it's hilt is wrapped in several pieces of ripped and dirtied cloth. [Heavy]

Francesca is Kayria's original weapon, it's a massive two-handed battle axe which, for some reason, seems to be always dirtied in blood. Below the blood that covers it, it's completely golden. [Slow and heavy]

What are their personalities?

Asgier is a snob, who sees all humans and other Telums as inferior trash. He loathes the idea of being used in this battle and hates even more the fact he's owned by a problematic kid.

Gudbrandur is bloodthirsty, as much as always trying to convince his owner, whoever it is, to engage into battles whenever possible, he enjoys being used to inflict pain on others and, since Satoshi is so good at it, he holds great respect for his current owner.

Francesca misses his original owner, Kayria, dearly. And also seems not to have a liking for battling. Despite it's gruesome appearance, it's actually a pacifist, constanly arguing with Gudbrandur and trying to coax Satoshi into, instead, not fighting.
