So, after years of working on XP I am finally forcing my hand to VX for a new project, along with some close friends influence and my main source of art inspiration being FF6 and it's superb retro style.

I was wondering however, how in the heck do I draw up a tile-set for VX if I plan on doing a FF6 style game?

I have pondered several ways to tackle this but so far all seem null due to the way auto-tiles work with VX and, I must admit I was never a OC guru or anything close to an artist, other than my musical work.

I don't want to have to ask someone to do this for me, because I am sure it will be a long, and hard to complete process, but I would like some insight on how you guys think I should do this, and what templates I should use.

Here are some examples of the base art style (NOT BASE TILE SETS) I want to create...

I can't seem to find any direct insight on this. Any assistance appreciated.

Just an update on this, not sure if anyone has the answer I was looking for, but I found a way to overall avoid the struggle all together using Parallax mapping.

Thanks for anyone who may have been able to help, this can be closed now...

Sorry for any inconvenience.
