5:45 "Kanade! I came to the right place!" the boy exclaimed, then taking notice of the situation, "What's the matter?" Kanade stood up, "Nothing. I got worried." Teran scratched his head, "Sorry I'm late, I got lost on the way. Is Marika coming too?" Kanade had almost forgotten her other friend, she was so excited to see Teran. "She said she'd be here, maybe she got lost too?" "I hope she's okay" Teran said, almost in an interrupting manner. He was obviously very worried about her, "You made it here, I'm sure she'll be along as well" Kanade said, trying to lift the mood. "If she doesn't show up in another half hour we can call her."
Why don't you see me?
They tried to have fun at the party, but Teran seemed so upset by Marika's absence. He had been so detached from the activities that Kanade almost felt more alone than she was before he arrived. She only maintained her sanity because there was a guess. "Perhaps he had heard the stories of the little girl who died, maybe he was spooked by them as well" she rationalized. "I'm going to call her" Teran said, leaving the party. Kanade pleaded with him to stay but he was set on finding her before doing anything else. And with that, Kanade was alone again.
Although Kanade and Marika were friends, she began to imagine her as an ugly wretched person who stole her friend away. Why did she have to take Teran's thoughts away from her party, why couldn't she have just come on time, or better not come at all. What a no good-- Teran walked back in, he seemed in lighter spirits, "I'm going to pick her up, she needs a ride." And Teran was gone again.
You can't ask me to come?
6:43, nobody was there. Kanade sat by herself in the garden. It had been almost 40 minutes since Teran had left. "Perhaps he hated me and went to go stay with her. Yes, that makes sense." She laid down in the dirt, "I suppose that's alright, now I don't have to worry about this big party, because it's gone." She begins to laugh to herself, "Yes. I don't have any worries, today is like the rest! Nothing is wrong!" She jumped up, mud splashing onto her dress, "I can do whatever I want!" She says in a half laughing, half crying tone. She begins to tear down decorations, "What is this crap? Why put this up?"
Poor poor Kanade. She tore down the banner and threw the cake, just then a voice from behind her spoke. "Kanade!"
Selfish
6:43, a girl with long blonde hair came running to Kanade and gave her a big hug. Kanade stood there, dazed, as Marika wrapped her arms around her. "It's so good to see you in person! I'm sorry I'm late, I couldn't get--" "Yes that's alright" Kanade said, she didnt want to remember being abandoned by Teran. "I love the decorations you put up!" Marika says. Kanade looked around at all the decorations, all neatly hung up and in place, "Yes. It took a long time." "That's fantastic!" Marika said, "Me and Teran are so glad to be here, right?" "Yeah!" Teran responded immediately. "Well I'm glad you came" Kanade said, "You backstab..."
Ignorant
