I am having the biggest issue with RM2k and I've never been able to find a solution. It's the text. There's nothing there even though I put in a Message command with events. I have the fonts installed...but here's the weird thing. Whenever I use the RPG Maker 2000 installer, it always freezes when it's registering the fonts. So I'm assuming it's adding the fonts into the system, just not installing them. So does anyone have a solution? (I tried Druakels patch but that didn't do jack shit)

Have you tried to install the fonts manually? If you're on Win XP, copy and paste them into the Windows/Fonts folder. On Vista and 7, you can right click and select Install.

You probably should try another installer then. Since translations are illegal, I can't give you any link but try to search for another one.

These are all the installers I downloaded:
RPG Revolution's Installer
RMRK's installer
RMN's installer
and Don Miguel's Installer. I did order the very pricey marketed version from Japan.

Then the problem must be with your computer. If you're on Vista or 7, have you run the setup as system administrator?

Yes, it just may be with your computer, and that it's such an old program. You're better off with RPG maker 2003 in my opinion, not only is it similar to 2000, you also get a few more extras, along with a battle system, and many other elements that don't appear in 2000. And I also recall that eventing isn't as broadened in 2000 compared to 2003. That's why I mostly stick to 2003, due to its simplicity like 2000, but you can make it into something amazing.

Please try the following link: http://crankeye.com/downloads/rm2k_fp.exe

It might fix your problem. If you have issues with finishing the rm2k installer, remember that you dont need a clean install of the program, a folder with the proper files works too.
Rm2k tough does have advantages over rm2k3 like more avaiable patches and so on.
