That animation is great, there's a few odd parts but overall it looks good.

I see where you're coming from about animating the wings on Lelia, though mind you if you work it from her shoulder blades it would mean only having to deal with her shoulders and chest altering. Though even still, it takes a lot to get something to animate correctly.

Yup. I also see some odd parts that I can work on. And for wing flapping, yes, what I see is almost the same as you, and is not easy.

Maybe you already noticed this, but I'm traveling across lot of different styles right now to test my actual skills. After trying a lot of things I'll go back to practice more in those I enjoyed the most.


Now I'm trying a bit of painting, with deep texture detailing, volumes, even some damaged and dirty scales. To be honest I neved tried this in my life, so I'm actually pretty amazed that I'm "able" to make this at the first try:



For me it looks almost 3D made, but is possible that I feel it that way because I'm self-amazed at this moment. I'll see it again tomorrow to be more objective in my self-critique.

I remade Phil completly, he deserved something better than looking like me haha. Also, I made an example of a possible comic(or manga, i don't know the difference at all) about the story these characters belong to.

On this one I really would appreciate honest critique, constructive or destructive, because I really need to know how this work is perceived by others, to make decision on going ahead with either the comic or a RPG game with drawn cut-scenes, or stick just to the written story by now.

The main differences between manga and other comics are: art, pane/action arrangement, and page arrangement. In a manga, the art is almost always animé-esque, with slight variations, and the pane/action arrangement is from right-to-left, and the pages are from back-to-front. Other comic styles are generally the opposite and are completely open in terms of types/forms/styles of art used.

Phil still looks good, but I'm somewhat surprised that you changed his appearance. 0.o
The comic you've added here looks quite good. =D
Personally, I think you could do both. You have the skills to do both, from what I've seen thus far.
I think it would be open to different audiences as well, if you do both an RPG game and a comic based on the story.
For example, gamers that don't care to play the RPG might enjoy the comic, and vice versa.

If you develop and complete the written story first, then it may be easier to develop both of them together. If you develop the story as you go, then it may be more difficult to complete the game. Although I don't think that it would affect the comic much if you developed the story as you go.

A project developed by Ambry. This used to be my old RMXP project but I converted it to GM8 and now Construct due to the game play possibilities. It's an action platformer with RPG elements and slight twists here and there. The project is based on 'The Seventh Tower' series by Garth Nix, but I assure you, I'm changing a lot of things!

Oh, you're right, it was not show.

Thanks for the comments. So far this comic got big attention in my furaffinity page at least... while most of my drawings catch about 30 visits, the first page of this comic got 70. What's amiss here is that when I uploaded the second page, that is a genitalia close up, in the first two minutes it got 150 views, and at the next day was at 250, while the first page remain around 70 views. That makes clear that the comic itself doesn't get that much attention, just the porn page.

Anyways, without counting up the fact that whatever thing that contain sex sells a lot more everywhere, the first page still did very well. The comic should get a good ammount of followers if I decide to go ahead, so it will be not a waste of effort at all, also with this detail quality each page does not take too much work thinking in long terms(the story is hell long).


For now I'll advance the story, and after getting a lot of text done I'll think in starting the comic and/or the game.

Being that familiar with your tablet will really make your artwork look more like you want it to.
Mine was difficult to get used to, so I didn't bother with it as much.

I don't know about drawing at all, but my common sense tells me that I'll need something like this as reference for being able to keep consistence in long terms.

Well, you already know Phil and Lelie. Phil is the protagonist, he's very skilled at everything without been the best at anything... just like me. Lelie is the third strongest barehanded warrior in the crew, also the second highest rank: Lieutenant. The lion is Ging, he's the second strongest barehanded warrior in the crew, but is very friendly however. The bear is Kanuh, he's the medic of the crew, he's strong but has no real combat skills. Both Ging and Kanuh are gay :3! I won't leak more info to save something for the comic/rpg haha.

PD: I guess you can thought Lelie looks more "alive" than the others, is because I did her eyes in deep detail and not the others.
PD2: I can show the color(non-sephia) version if someone is interested.

Not any new drawing this time, I'm just popping in to chat a bit with you dudes.

Hi, I'm Leon, the electromechanic, hahaha. Vacations? Not for me, awww. I took a job that will last at least for two more weeks. The payment is nice, but the problem is that this work is really heavy... I'm dissasembling, cleaning, repairing and replacing parts of industrial electrical motors, being group leader of a bunch of practicants, basically I had to work more than everyone because I'm the only one capable of doing many of the complex tasks there, also watching for everyone are not making any mess. Then, when I come back home I don't have any mood to draw anything as I'm physically and mentally out of energy... However, yesterday I tried to draw something, but my arms where trembling a lot, and today they still tremble a bit making me impossible to draw straight clean lines.

In short: I'll not be able to show you any drawing until Jan 17 at least, when this job is expected to be finished.

I'm happy for you as well! Just wondering: If you write your books in Spanish, but talk to us in English, how come you don't write in English? Do you use a translator? (Oh, yeah, good work, I can't wait for Ll's heart to come out!)

I also have some other questions to ask you, but I'll only say one right now:

Can I make a game for Lelienthea's Heart using Rmvx? I don't really know what to say to make you say yes, but I do have mapping and eventing skills. I could even make some basic sprites! Or, I could just do chapter one and see what you think of it. Please? (You're awesome and other buttering ups!) Why don't we try it? It never hurts to try!

I can read and write in english, but my vocabulary is not really wide. I must "adapt" what I think in spanish to tell something alike in english with the words I know, that's why sometimes I can sound a bit unfriendly... Only because I can't find the words to say what I want in the way I want. And that's why I can't write my story in english by myself.


LH has really explicit adult content, if I say yes you'll adapt the game to be tame or you'll make the game explicit too? I'm not sure about it. If you make a game based on a story o mine using my created characters and my created universe, and you give credit for it, I don't think I'll go mad at all, but I was planning on making an RPG of this story depending on how well the comic goes... In the first half of 2010 I learned how to script for VX, and in the second half I learned how to draw, all to be able to make a good game without RTP by myself. This will happen about mid year, after the comic has advanced and I can see clearly the reception of the watchers. Then, if you are still working on it, and you are good, I may join you instead of starting my own.
