I was thinking about implementing an upgrade system for weapons the other day but I don't really know how to. I was thinking it should be like Resident Evil 5 or shooters that have a similar system where you can use money to make your weapons stronger and more effective. What should I do to achieve this? Is it possible in RM2K3?

Yes, it is actually. Using forks you can have it in your script to require certain materials & money in order to upgrade a certain weapon. It isn't that tough; although, there are more complex ways of doing this...the general idea behind is something like this:

IF PARTY POSSESESS "Copper Ore"
> Wait 0.0
IF PARTY POSSESSES "$300"
> Message: "I can strength your weapon now, ya losers."
SHOW CHOICE
> YES:
> NO
>
ELSE
> Message: "You do not have enough materials! Get out of my store!!!"

A bit lazy on my part, but something like this should be okay... ^^

It is possible. You just have to swap out the un-upgraded weapon for the upgraded version which would be a different item in the database. It's quite easy. You just have to find a place for this to take place. And also, you'll need different guys and conditional events (forks) to upgrade different weapons.

I think it might be best to focus on the events. If I can pull it off it'll be great. If not I'll substitute it for something else that is similar. I'll try out both approaches and see which one works best. I'll let you know how things turn out from here. Thanks for the help. I appreciate it. On a side note, if anyone would like to contribute by showing me via video that would be awesome.
