RPG maker XP Magic learning system?? Options

I've come to a deadline on my game at the moment, i dont want to level up Say. Black Mage just to learn Fire III, i want to be able to learn spells through items, E.G "Scroll Of Fire III" "Teaches the Black magic: Fire" Or something like that, if you can help me it will be much appreciated ^^ thanx

i don't think it's the good way, it will become very confusing if you have so many skill want to learn and many character can learn the skill from those items
