Hello, Fellow forum members. Now , before any of you question the point of this post , I'd like to directly state the point :
To discuss whether or not people get more of Constructive Criticism or Hate on this forum.

Now, There are sections of the forum that are made for people to post their projects, ideas, art, etc. And by posting these things, they're accepting the fact that people will criticize what they post and , hopefully, this criticism will be Constructive / Helpful.
Something that I've noticed is that some people on this forum don't even criticize in a good way AT ALL. I see more hate than criticism. This is the internet, though , so I'm not worked up about it. I think it's just really silly though.
Everyone has different interests in their projects , music, ideals, etc.. But does that mean that, if you see something you don't like, you have to completely bash it and the person that posted it? Come on.
I saw somebody post an idea for a project a few months ago, and it wasn't THAT bad, but it could have used work ; As could everyone's projects since no one is perfect.
Everyone that commented on his idea was extremely rude about it. They were honest, which I bet is something that everyone wants in criticism, but maybe a bit too harsh.

So, what do you guys think/ see more of?
Criticism? or Hate?

I do not believe that "hate" would be an appropriate term to use in the place of "harsh criticism", though if you see someone flaming, then that is clearly against the rules and you can click the Report button for those situations.

In relation to criticism, you must realise that sometimes it is difficult to provide it in a way that isn't harsh, whilst other times it is taken as harsh and wasn't meant to be, and of course you also have the argument that harsh criticism is necessary.
All of these different perspectives come from many different people, and commonly criticism is confused with hate.

I think having a specific example to look at would make this discussion easier to have.

Though I do know that many people are on both sides of this argument.
Some believe critique is too soft and that it encourages new members to be lazy, whilst others believe critique is too harsh and that it drives new members away.

I believe there is a balance though, and finding it is simply not an easy task. (Especially when you try to get everyone on board with accomplishing that delicate balance.)
