hello, i had this little question here, you see i'm trying to open some xyz files and rpg maker cannot do that, can someone tell me how to open them please? thanks

Put them in your project and export them to png with the material exporter.

by material exporter you mean material editor right? i tried to but i get a message that it cannot open them, so i renamed the files (they had japanese names) and it seems to be working. thank you.

RM2k3 is non-unicode and cannot read japanese characters so yes, it was most likely the problem.
