PS3 won't start games, won't accept discs, Guess this is the only place I can put this now Options

So what happened to the General forum and the Video Games forum? o.0 I guess this is the only place I can post this:

So my PS3 80GB has been having problems lately with the "system is too hot" error. So I unplugged it, tried a whole bunch of tricks people had, andnothing worked. So I took it apart and cleaned out all the dust and put the screws back in their right location (minus two shell ones, not a big problem. They wouldn't go back in so I didn't force it) and tried playing it again. Little did I know, however, that my brother had put Uncharted 3 back in the system before I took it apart and did a fan test, so it wouldn't eject the disc and it was stuck. It didn't say it was in, either. So I took it apart again and looked for more solutions, and I ended up doing a tutorial on how to take games out of the blu-ray disc reader by taking it apart. Everything went well, I put everything back in it's natural order, and then we started up the ps3 again. Everything came up just fine (other than the restart thing you have to do to "recover memory" or whatever when you unplug it incorrectly) and we went to put UN3 inside. It didn't let us put it in. It seemed like there was something blocking it, and I knew there was nothing left inside. So we tried playing InFamous 2 and a couple other games that we have on our PS3. It showed the splash screens that deal with the motion controller and stuff, then it just wouldn't start up and the fans started going nuts. I've had this system for 2 years now I think, and I do not have a warranty on it anymore as it is now void (hence why I took my ps3 apart) and whenever we watch new blu-ray movies or play newer games, the fans go insane and the "system becomes hot."
So I'm not exactly sure what I'm asking here, but... is there a way to somehow miraclous way to fix this? I have no money and my warranty is gone, so I won't be sending it into Sony. If I could get any help on this whatsoever, I would be very happy

Another question: if I bought a new PS3 and transferred the data from the broken one onto that one, would it be safe to do so? Like do you think it's a hardware problem or a software problem?

Transferring the data wouldn't cause a problem but the only bad thing about it is you lose all your trophies and some games won't even let you use the save file anymore if it's not created on that same PS3 (Soul Calibur 4 I'm mad at you). Learned that the hard way but I didn't play many PS3 games till recently, only FF13, SC4, Devil May Cry 4.

He wouldn't lose any trophies (except for any that aren't synced up to the network already) BUT there is a limit to the amount of consoles you can have your PS3 account on (5 I believe) to prevent people from downloading all their games on each others consoles for free.
@Redd; Yeah, you should be fine, it does sound like a hardware problem (since this new error occurred post fiddling around with it).

You really need to offer a lot more argument and discussion if you want to promote another system when someone asks for assistance with a system they already have.

Please refrain from short comments that could potentially lead to an argument about something unrelated to the topic (the topic is "PS3" and "helping with a PS3 problem"; it is not "Xbox versus PS3"). =]

Nice XMO ;D I got it all fixed up, but I have another problem now >_> the fans (i think) are crapping out. They seem to be working because the fans rush really fast. I can't play newer games (I have a pretty old PS3, 80 gig fat), such as MW3, Skyrim, GoldenEye Reloaded, Uncharted 3, because it just says "the system has become too hot" and shuts down. I have tried putting three fans in all different positions around the ps3 and still nothing. I have opened the system when it comes up with the error and nothing is even hot. I think it could just be the summer talking, but my house is always 72 degrees, so I don't think it has anything to do with the summer, it just started happening now.
Any helps with this?

It sounds like your heat sensor is being silly.
